Yes sir, I DID put it in the Original category--and you can't stop me! This is NOT fan-art! This is NOT for a fan-fiction! This story is my own idea with my own characters based on the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The new BBC show isn't fan-fiction, right?!
Ah, the incorrigible Sherlock Holmes. II ) He has a slightly different personality in my head from either BBC!Sherlock or ACD!Holmes, whom I tried to make him a combination of but don't think I did very well on. :/ He was originally meant to have swept-back hair with one part that would stay swept-back (a combination of their hair-styles), but it didn't work. So I went with: "It's messy because he doesn't care" and then tried to make it not look curly like Cumberbatch's.
He has a long and fantastic coat like BBC!Sherlock, but also a bit like ACD!Holmes. He wears a scarf, because scarves are cool. His other color scheme is supposed to be a bit more ACD than BBC, with warmer colors. His coat is supposed to have Art Deco-themed patterns on it, but I can't draw it at all. : (
Sherlock Holmes is a young chemist living and employed at Police Chief Lestrade's speakeasy, 221B. His official job is to separate toxins from imported booze so that it's safe for the customers to drink, but technically he also handles cases out of the polices' depth and cases brought by individual clients who find their problems either too complicated or too delicate for the police. Sherlock ran to college to avoid the draft, then immediately dropped out when the coast was clear. He can be a bit petulant, a bit over excited at very inappropriate things, loves the violin, is almost impossible to control, clearly a sociopath, but most of all unequivocally brilliant. Sherlock isn't really crazy, he's just too damn smart for his own damn good and he starts to crack a little when bored. Sherlock's one college thesis, on The Science of Deduction
made him a star of the school, but his impossible personality and general disdain helped balance his fame with his infamy. Sherlock is quite fond of John Watson, for being honest, impressed by Sherlock, and intelligent. John does manage to bring down a little bit of Sherlock's crazy when he starts stagnating and also helps him take less drugs, because I've changed my mind and Sherlock's going to take drugs after all.
Hopefully there'll be some Moriarty, Sebastian Moran (who is being brought in purely because I had a great design for him and nothing else), and Lestrade, so I can talk more about Prohibition turf wars and 221B. : D
